SANTORINI.
Santorini was easily one of my favourite places we visited on my Europe trip. You hear people say 'you feel like you're looking at a post card' but then when you actually look at the post cards
absolutely nothing compares. The views were spectacular.
I don't even know how I can put it into words but I'll try my best and if not here's 25 photos to maybe explain it a little bit better.
Me and my friend Brooke started our trip to Greece the right way by missing our flight. Which ended up leaving us in Rome airport, on the floor for 9 hours and then sleeping in the lobby of our hotel in Greece. By this point we were miserable, sleep deprived and 600 dollars poorer. I was so in need of a bed. As we arrived at our hotel at 2am and couldn't check in for another 12 hours we had time to kill. A lot of time. After our extremely satisfying nap on the hotel floor we thought we'd explore when the sun came up. Our hotel was located in a place called Thira and considering neither of us had ever been to Santorini we had no idea where we were going. Luckily we found a place for breakfast and it might have been made up for all the luck we had been lacking over the past 24 hours but I have never ever been more impressed with a breakfast in my life. The café is called 'Corner' I have a photo of the sign outside and the waffles I ordered almost every morning and if that doesn't persuade you to go I don't know what will. If you're hungry don't look at the waffle picture.
If you are ever if Thira do yourself a favour and find this café.
I had high hopes for Greece as I have seen photos all over places like Pinterest and Instagram and always heard only amazing things and even after having such large expectations Greece managed to blow them all away. We only stayed for 5 days and I probably could have stayed for 5 weeks.
We visited places like Oia, Red beach, White beach, the Santorini volcano and the Hot Springs. Each place I would visit again in a heartbeat.
Other than the spectacular views one of my favourite parts would have to be the shops, If I could've taken home nearly everything I think I would have. Next time I will be leaving a huge chunk of my suitcase free purely for purchases made in Santorini.
OH and if you ever get the chance purchase a Gyros, it's the best 3 Euro you will ever spend.
I promise.
During our time we also did a sunset cruise and I can easily say it was worth every penny and maybe one of my favourite days spent in Santorini. The boat picked us up around mid-day and took us to various places around the island to swim and explore. After we all boarded the boat again to continue sailing around the island whilst eating a meal prepared for us and finally stopping off to see the famous Oia sunset.
Santorini has stolen a piece of my heart and it's very safe to say I will be back at the next opportunity I get.
Told you not to look at them
I hope you enjoyed the photos and speak soon!
Lots of love,
