How pets make your house a home

I think personally I'm always going to be a pet person. I consider my pets family and they bring so much love and joy to all of us. The one thing about pets is they're always so excited to see you, so excited to spend time with you, so excited to sit beside you for every hour you're home. You might be having a crappy day and it doesn't change how much your pet wants to see you, you might think you look bad today but your pet is going to love you just as much no matter what your appearance. You coming home is very well the best part of their day. Apart from dinner of course.

I have two dogs Mavis and Norman. Brother and sister. I wouldn't change their affection, their cuddles, their following you around, their begging or their love for the world. They can change my mood from bad to good quicker than anyone else can. A Friday night in is never lonely with these two. You have friends, family, work colleagues and acquaintances in your life but to your pets you are their life.

I am so grateful for my little fur babies and to all those out their who have their own, fur, feathered, scaly or slimy babies I know you'll understand me when I say my house wouldn't be my home without them.

The blogging slump-

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in 'Give me Sun!'

Recently I purchased the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in 'Give me Sun!'
This is a product I have used before as my friend who I travelled with to Europe with owned it and it was always a good way for us to get that sun kissed look before we went out. I have been saying to myself I am going to pick this product up for such a long time and until now have never actually gone out and purchased it.
This is the first MAC Mineralize Skinfinish I own and so far I am pretty impressed. I fake tan a lot of the time so finding a good shade of bronzer can sometimes deem to be difficult. When I'm not fake tanned I look for a subtle bronze colour as I am so naturally white especially in the winter that bronzers can so easily show up to harsh on my face but when I fake tan those bronzers are no longer dark enough to show up against the darker foundation. Give me Sun is a lovely shade to warm up your face and make it look like you've been sitting outside in the sun all day.
Hence the name Give me Sun.

I find with this Skinfinish I have to be very light handed as the product is extremely pigmented and you can easily go overboard with one dip but in saying that one of my favourite things about this product is it's ability to blend, you're never left with any harsh lines.
The more you blend the more of a natural finish you'll get. I would be extremely careful with this product for those with fair skin as it's not my go to when I'm not wearing fake tan. This Skinfinish has quite a bit of an orange undertone and can quickly become too orange if to much is applied. I find that this product also lasts all day and doesn't at go cakey over the top of foundation.

With the product being $49 Australian dollars it is definitely on the pricier side, but I wouldn't let the price scare you away. You get so much product in each Skinfinish that I think it'd be impossible to finish one in your lifetime. I am a huge sucker for buying 3 or 4 cheap products for the same price as the expensive product and then end up buying the expensive product anyway.

Also you can never go wrong with MAC's packaging, The MAC Give me Sun is in matte black casing with a decent sized mirror. Which makes it a great on the go product.

All in all I think the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish is an extremely good product and I highly recommend for those looking for a good warm bronzer, just remember you can easily go overboard so light handed is the way to go, more can always be added but it's extremely difficult to take off.

Let me know of any great bronzers you like!

9 ways to trick yourself into being a morning person

Found on Pintrest from tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com

As much as I'd love to say I am a natural morning person who's up at 5am before work ready for my morning yoga session I am not. I am an it's time to go and I'm still in my pjs with one eyebrow drawn on kinda girl and now that I've started working full time again I can no longer do that.

So here's 9 things I do in the morning to trick my body into thinking I am a morning person.

1. Routine is vital for me. I find if I have a routine for the order I do things in the mornings, I seem to stick to it and I know exactly how long it takes me to get ready. I find a routine becomes so natural to you after a few times and before you know it you forget you even have one!

2. Drinking fluids, this might sound silly but a good glass of water in the morning can really start off your day. I don't drink nearly enough water and I can't count the amount of times I have woken up with a headache especially with the warmer months. If you're not a coffee drinker, tea is always a great way to get something into your stomach and if water is too boring put some fruit in a bottle before bed and leave it in the fridge and in the morning you have an extremely yummy start to your day waiting for you.

3. Eating a substantial breakfast. Eating breakfast for me has never been on my to do list. I am just never hungry in the mornings but ever since working full time a good breakfast is a necessity to set you up until lunch. Otherwise come 10am when you've been up since 6 your stomach will be angry with you and you will be counting the minutes until lunch. Plus a good breakfast improves concentration!

4. Keeping your environment tidy. This is a big one that I struggle with because when I am getting ready and running late I seem to get angry with the clothes that don't look good and throw them around my room. At least that is what it looks like when I am finally ready. I find when my environments clean everything else just flows a bit more smoother (Including finding things).

5. Get your beauty sleep. Getting a good night sleep is absolutely a must, if you don't get enough sleep one night you might not feel it the next day but it will catch up with you and when you're up so early everyday it's hard to catch back up with your sleep. If you're already a perfect morning person who has 5 hours sleep and can wake up looking like Beyoncé then this point isn't for you. For the majority of us though a good nights rest can be vital.

6. Choosing your outfit the night before. If you work a lot or full time like me you will know trying to choose an outfit every morning can be the real struggle. Not to mention that's where most of my mess comes from. I have found choosing my outfit the night before saves me so much time and a lot of mess.

7. Plan your food ahead. I find that trying to eat healthy in a rush never happens for me. If I'm in a rush and don't have time to make myself something I find myself in Zambrero's ordering a burrito for lunch. (Not that there's ever anything wrong with burrito's, breakfast, lunch and dinner), but I do really find that if I make myself something the night before and have it in the fridge ready for the next day I save a lot of time. It saves me a burrito and keeps my bank account looking that little bit healthier.

8. Having my hair done the night before. I don't know if you're like me but my hair takes forever to do in the mornings, but I always look so much more alive and awake if I put some effort into it. If anyone is like me and not blessed with perfect after shower hair I suggest you help your hair out a little bit the night before. It saves me at least half an hour.

9. Smile. It's a simple thing that isn't done enough, I can guarantee if you smile something great will come out of your day.

SANTORINI . GREECE

SANTORINI.
Santorini was easily one of my favourite places we visited on my Europe trip. You hear people say 'you feel like you're looking at a post card' but then when you actually look at the post cards
absolutely nothing compares. The views were spectacular.
I don't even know how I can put it into words but I'll try my best and if not here's 25 photos to maybe explain it a little bit better.

Me and my friend Brooke started our trip to Greece the right way by missing our flight. Which ended up leaving us in Rome airport, on the floor for 9 hours and then sleeping in the lobby of our hotel in Greece. By this point we were miserable, sleep deprived and 600 dollars poorer. I was so in need of a bed. As we arrived at our hotel at 2am and couldn't check in for another 12 hours we had time to kill. A lot of time. After our extremely satisfying nap on the hotel floor we thought we'd explore when the sun came up. Our hotel was located in a place called Thira and considering neither of us had ever been to Santorini we had no idea where we were going. Luckily we found a place for breakfast and it might have been made up for all the luck we had been lacking over the past 24 hours but I have never ever been more impressed with a breakfast in my life. The café is called 'Corner' I have a photo of the sign outside and the waffles I ordered almost every morning and if that doesn't persuade you to go I don't know what will. If you're hungry don't look at the waffle picture.
If you are ever if Thira do yourself a favour and find this café.
I had high hopes for Greece as I have seen photos all over places like Pinterest and Instagram and always heard only amazing things and even after having such large expectations Greece managed to blow them all away. We only stayed for 5 days and I probably could have stayed for 5 weeks.

We visited places like Oia, Red beach, White beach, the Santorini volcano and the Hot Springs. Each place I would visit again in a heartbeat.
Other than the spectacular views one of my favourite parts would have to be the shops, If I could've taken home nearly everything I think I would have. Next time I will be leaving a huge chunk of my suitcase free purely for purchases made in Santorini.
OH and if you ever get the chance purchase a Gyros, it's the best 3 Euro you will ever spend.
I promise.

During our time we also did a sunset cruise and I can easily say it was worth every penny and maybe one of my favourite days spent in Santorini. The boat picked us up around mid-day and took us to various places around the island to swim and explore. After we all boarded the boat again to continue sailing around the island whilst eating a meal prepared for us and finally stopping off to see the famous Oia sunset.

Santorini has stolen a piece of my heart and it's very safe to say I will be back at the next opportunity I get.

Told you not to look at them
