Current Favourites

Technically a lot of these things are my 'May Favourites' but I thought I jumped on the bandwagon a little early to title it that as we're only at the 22nd so here are some of my current favourite things.
With it being my birthday at the start of this month I was lucky enough to be spoilt with a few new goodies and it's safe to say I've fallen in love with so many of them.

Firstly the Meet Matt(e) Nude palette by the Balm.
I purchased myself this about a month and a half ago as I came across it in Target when the Balm had 30% off and how can you say no to 30% off? Recently I have been enjoying wearing simple eye looks with one or two shades on the eyes and lashes and this palette has every colour I would need for that. With all 9 shadows being matte it is a very practical palette with a lot of blending and transition shades (not to mention all the shades are extremely pigmented). I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a staple matte shadow palette.

 

Becca Highlighter in Opal.
This is a product that everyone and their neighbour has tried and I've never had my hands on. My lovely friend Brooke gifted me this for my birthday and I was so excited when I opened it. It's something I've wanted to try forever as here in the blogging world and on YouTube I've heard nothing but wonderful things and it definitely doesn't disappoint. It's so creamy and blends into the skin like a dream. What I love about this highlighter is the way you can wear it lightly to make it look subtle or pack it on to shine so bright you can see it across the street.

The Body Shop Strawberry Gel-Lotion.
As we're coming into the colder months here in Australia my skin is definitely starting to get more dry and because on a usual week I'll fake tan moisturising is essential to making it last and not go flaky. I got this lotion in a set for my birthday and the smell is divine. Body Shop never disappoints with the scents of their products. As soon as this mini bottle runs out I'll definitely be purchasing the bigger size.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette.
To me any Too Faced eye shadow palette I have used has never disappointed. From the pigmentation to the colour range and the best part being the smell of some of their palettes. If you ever get the chance make sure you go into your nearest Sephora or Mecca and just smell this palette and I'm sure it'll win you over. I was such a fan of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette that when I saw this one was releasing I had to purchase it the minute it came out and I'm so glad I did. Next on the wishlist is the Semi Sweet Palette and if it's even half as good as this or the Chocolate Bar I will be very happy.

Flowers.
My current obsession and has been for a very long time now are flowers. I have become the type of person that always wants fresh flowers in my room. I feel they bring any room to life. I'm actually considering based off my love for flowers doing a floristry course and making up bouquets for my family and friends. My little dream would be to have a Saturday or Sunday market stall selling extremely pretty bouquets of flowers.

Cup O'Coffee Lush Face and Body Mask.
This is probably my favourite item out of my current favourites. I received a beautiful box for my birthday with lots of goodies and this was in there and since then it has become my favourite thing. I'm yet to use it as a body mask but when I have used it on my face it's done wonders. After a big weekend I find using this calms my skin completely down from all the makeup I've worn. My skin feels so lovely and soft after using it and I felt as if it calmed down any blemishes I had on my skin.
It's quite a big tub so I can't see myself finishing it any time soon but as soon as it finishes I will definitely be purchasing another one.

Frank Body Coffee Lip Scrub.
I had never before this tried any products from Frank Body but have always heard people say such wonderful things about their body scrub. I received the coffee lip scrub for my birthday earlier this month and with it coming into the colder months and my lips being dryer it has been a lifesaver. I have tried one other lip scrub before and it doesn't compare to how lovely this one is. It has the nicest coffee smell and it isn't too chunky or harsh on my lips. Will definitely be my best friend over the Winter months. I also received the Frank Body lip balm and I definitely recommend it with this scrub.

Earrings.
Earrings are my current obsession. Accessorising is something I definitely want to do more as I can sometimes be a bit of a plain Jane when it comes to it. Recently I have fallen in love with earrings, anything dangly with tassels or a boho vibe I am all over. These gold hoops with tassels are some of my new favourites, I feel a good pair of earrings can make any outfit complete.
I also thought I would add in the matching necklace as I have been wearing this quite often as well. I find it's a good simple piece that can bring a certain something to any plain outfit without it being too much.

Mac Fix Plus.
Now this is a product that I probably couldn't live without. I use fix plus at so many stages during my makeup application, it sets everything in place whilst also giving moisture to any excess powder. I find it great to enhance any shadows or highlighter and just can all over spray to give your skin a little bit of extra moisture. It's a big winner in my eyes.

Candles.
Last but certainly not least candles. I am such a sucker for a good candle. I believe I currently have 4 displaying in my bedroom. Coming into winter I feel as if my candle obsession might fall hand in hand with my flower obsession. This cute little one was a gift for my birthday and the rose gold on the outside just makes this candle a beautiful addition to my dresser. I believe it's from Cotton On.

Wine Tour Sundays

Hello! and happy May!

My personal favourite month of the year. As of the 2nd of May I'm now no longer 21 and have officially joined the 22's club. Exciting but sad because doesn't everyone want to be 21 forever?

This previous weekend just gone I celebrated my two friends birthdays on a wine tour. Wine tours always call for a wonderful day but an even better day when the sun is shining. Especially for this time of the year where it's usually starting to get a little gloomy!

I had purchased this dress and didn't think I was going to get a chance to wear it before it started to get colder but the weather definitely turned it on for us on Sunday and it was like a Summers day in the Swan Valley!

There's something about flowing maxi dresses that are so feminine and flattering on everyone and what better day to wear one than on a Sunday wine tour. This dress I actually purchased on sale! for $20 from $90! At first I tossed up buying it as I tend to buy too many clothes recently that I don't ever end up wearing (please tell me I'm not the only one) but for $20 I thought how could I not.

I'm a big fan of anything that has an off the shoulder style as I feel it really flatters a lot of people.

The sandals I am wearing are some of my favourite shoes that I picked up from a market stall in Bali for a really small price and I've worn them a lot and the quality is amazing! The tie up detailing has been one of my favourites over the Summer. I feel it adds a really lovely touch to what could be a simple outfit. The pairing of brown shoes and a brown bag have also been one of my favourite go to colours recently. My bag was definitely a win as I believe I got it from Primark for £3 back in 2015.

My sunnies are Ray-Ban and an investment I'm definitely glad I made as I wear them with nearly everything and I feel they're such a flattering style.

La Laguna

I recently returned from a holiday to Bali Indonesia! If you've ever visited Bali yourself you would know there are endless bars and restaurants and you'll never be in short supply of places to go. This was my 3rd time visiting Bali and I can hands down say this beach bar and restaurant La Laguna is my favourite place I've stumbled across yet.

It has to be maybe the most photogenic place ever.

Not one single inch of La Laguna lacked character. From the hand painted designs on the tables, chairs, bar and basically anything that was wooden. There we're endless amounts of fairy lights (which is always a winner for me) and when the sun went down the whole place was beautifully lit. As you walk in the entrance is lined with individual and beautiful mini wooden cabins/ huts, which were all decorated and painted differently. Some open and filled with furniture and others with psychics doing card readings. I personally wanted to rent one of the little cabins and move in.

To top off the fact that it was the most easy to the eye restaurant/ bar I've ever been to the menu was incredible too. From beautiful fresh cocktails to amazing cheese platters, tapas and full mains I can't (and wouldn't want to) fault a single thing.
If anyone is near Seminyak in Bali, or even if you're not, La Laguna is a must.

Not your average Monday

I would say I count myself extremely lucky to live where I live. It's around this time of year all the fall posts come out from the other side of the world and on my side it's time for warm nights, barbeques and incredible sunsets.

Yesterday it was my sisters 14th birthday and the warmest day we've had this Spring so far. 37 degrees Celsius, so spending the afternoon/ evening at the beach would be an opportunity to good to miss. With there being clouds splattered everywhere that usually means for an incredible sunset and an added bonus yesterday was the 'Super Moon'. So as the sun went down in front of me and incredibly big and bright moon rose from behind. Lucky for me this beach is only a 2 minute walk from my house and after a long day at work it's such an easy way to get out of and unwind, even if it is only 10 minutes.

My everyday work makeup

Happy Sunday!

Firstly I just want to apologise for the quality of these photos, it's something I'm working on and certainly want to improve. My camera was being difficult so I had to use my phone but practice makes perfect and everyone has to start somewhere right?

As my mornings getting ready for work go I tend to use the same products and do the same simple makeup look everyday. When it's 6.30am I'm not always overly thrilled to be painting my face so early so for me simple is best. I envy the people who are able to jump out of bed and automatically look fresh and flawless without any effort. Unfortunately it takes a little bit more than that for me. So in order these are the products I use on a day to day basis.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Anti-fatigue Foundation & Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation- Starting with Foundation. Foundation is something that I tend to swap up a little but usually it'll be the same two. If anyones a fake tanner like me you'll know that throughout the working week you'll become whiter and whiter from the weekend tan, so mixing shades is a necessity. An everyday foundation has to be what I have struggled with most when trying to find a go to. I have my higher end foundations that are my go to on weekends but when you're wearing it 5 days a week it can get expensive quickly so I do try and go for drugstore. My favourite I've found at the moment is the Rimmel Lasting Finish. I find it gives me good coverage and stays on for the whole day without going patchy which is my biggest problem as I answer phones quite often in the day I find that my makeup can go patchy on the side the phone is constantly touching. The Rimmel wake me up is also a good alternative with a good colour range, this is a new one I've recently started trying.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer- If I could recommend any product out of my everyday routine to invest in it would be this. This concealer is hands down my favourite, I find that it blends like a dream and doesn't crease or look dry under my eyes and for the price?! you can't go wrong. I use the shade 20 sand as for a day to day look I prefer my under eyes not to be too bright.

Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder- This powder has been a go to for me for a few years now and I can't fault it. It's such a good alternative for the mac pressed powder and a quarter of the price. I find they have such a great range of shades which is great for me considering my tan constantly fades throughout the week. The best thing about it is that it's so inexpensive! I would definitely recommend getting your hands on it if it's available.

Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer- I fell in love with this bronzer a while back when my friend bought me the milk chocolate shade for my birthday. It's creamy, it blends like a dream and the shades are amazing. Plus it smells like chocolate which isn't a bad smell first thing in the morning if you ask me.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade- This is my go to eyebrow product. I use the shade chocolate and I've had it for such a long time and there is still so much product left in the pot. I once left the lid off and it did dry out which makes the shade a little less intense so I'm definitely in need of a new one. I believe this is a product so worth the money. If you can remember to always keep the lid on it, it will last you a really long time. Tip: If you do happen to leave the lid off for to long like me spray a little bit of setting spray either on your brush or in the pot and it will help give it some moisture.

Mac Soft Ochre Paint Pot- This isn't a product I use on the daily but if I'm wearing eye shadow that I want to stay in place then this paint pot will make sure it doesn't budge.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette- As the beauty community was blessed with this eye shadow palette quite sometime ago it's no stranger to anyone. This is my go to eye shadow palettes for nights out and day to day and plus like I said with the bronzer it also smells like chocolate. I don't usually use eye shadow on a day to day basis, usually just some mascara but if I'm feeling like a little extra something this will be the palette I reach for.

Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara- I have been using this mascara on a daily basis for a long time now, it doesn't clump them together and can make them look rather natural. I have a brown shade and a black I swap between, It all really depends on which ever one is on hand to me at the time.

Mac Cremesheen Lipstick in the shade Peach Blossom- Lipstick does change up quite often but the one I mostly grab for is my Mac Cremesheen Lipstick in the shade 'Peach Blossom'. I love this colour it's a natural pink and goes with anything and as the formula goes it's extremely moisturising on the lips. As for lip liners the three I reach for the most are my too faced perfect lips lip liner in the shade 'Perfect Nude' and my two essence lip liners in the shades 'Satin Mauve' and 'In the nude'. The essence lip liners are only $2 and are amazing so I highly recommend picking some up. Sometimes I will wear the lip liner all over the lips and add a clear lip balm over the top.

Mac Fix Plus- One of my favourite steps to my makeup routine, spraying my face with Fix Plus. It locks everything into place and gives your face extra moisture at the same time. A must for me on a day to day basis.

If anyone can recommend any great BB creams, please let me know! The less I have to put on my face in the day the better but I'm still yet to find one that will stay put!

Hey.

ahhh hello!

Such a long time no speak! I have neglected this blog for far too long and I am now back and I'm here to stay this time.
I just thought I'd come on say hello and write a little update. 2016, what a year so far hey. My last post I was saying how I couldn't believe we were in 2016 and now look we're coming up to the end of October! that absolutely baffles me. As for things that have been going on this year, I'm still working full time, I've just started studying again, I turned 21, I've been to Bali and Byron Bay and life is looking pretty good.
As for this blog my plan is to actually write posts. I'm the worst, I keep saying to myself I'm going to get back into it. I'm even constantly coming on here to start and always end up in the same position.
but there is no better time than the present right?
Anyways I hope everything is wonderful for everyone else and 2016 has been one to remember so far.

Saying goodbye to 2015 and a huge hello to 2016

I know at the end of every year everyone always says where has the year gone but 2015 has genuinely flashed before my eyes. 2015 for me has been an unforgettable year with more highs than I can count on my fingers and toes. Every year is going to come with it's lows as well but it's 2016 and we've all made it!

I started writing this long post about everything I had done and achieved in 2015 but then even I was getting lost throughout it so I thought I'd try and keep it a little bit more short and sweet. This past year has truly been one not to forget, with travelling to Europe and stopping uni to work full time everything has changed, but if I could go back and do it again I wouldn't change much at all. Maybe just the hangovers, I could take out those. To be able to be here to see 2016 and to say my family and friends are all happy and healthy, very cheesy and cliché but I am very thankful. 

In 2015 I went to my fair share of festivals, one to many wine tours, quit my four year job at the movies, started working full time, had one to many hangovers, experienced the clubs in Ibiza, went on a Contiki, lost my phone at nearly every festival I attended, found my phone at nearly every festival I attended, started my blog, fell in love with Vampire Diaries, I went to Harry Potter world, saw One Direction, saw Sam Smith, was introduced to Netflix, ate a snail, ate frog legs, climbed the Eifel tower, dyed my hair blonder, turned 20, missed a flight, went to England, Spain, Greece, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, Amsterdam and Sweeden, I went to a charity ball, I went to a uni ball, I got my wisdom teeth out, I cried, I laughed until I cried and I certainly grew as a person.

I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas and New Year with your family and ate way to much food over the Christmas period. I also hope your 2016 is as wonderful as you all are.
